OESC Employer Portal Design

Creative Design - Web Design
Project Overview

The goal was to design and envision a future state unified portal for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission. This portal will empower employers to pay unemployment taxes in addition to fulfilling  other tax responsibilities while also providing personalized information about their obligations and actionable steps. Employers can manage their accounts, pay contributions, file reports and view electronic communications in OESC's online portal. Currently, the agency is transitioning from the legacy EZ Tax system to the new Employer Portal. To make this transition easier, employers only need a single sign-on to access both systems and can seamlessly switch between the two.

My Contributions

In this role, I utilized disciplined design strategy skills to create and translate schematic wireframes into high-fidelity mockups, resulting in visually stunning prototypes. I focused on producing smart, effective, engaging, and visually appealing user experiences. Additionally, I effectively communicated tactical and strategic design choices and recommendations to stakeholders and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and envision a future state unified portal for employers to fulfill their tax responsibilities and receive personalized information on their obligations and call-to-action.

• Provide an intuitive high-fidelity design that educates users on financially impactful forms and notices, while also creating a simplified comprehensive employer application and registration that dynamically adapts across 16 different scenarios.

• Present prototypes directly to clients and department-level leadership on a weekly basis, collaborating with the digital communications team to improve the existing web presence.

• Create adaptable designs to accommodate new technical and data constraints, explaining alternative design options that meet system requirements.

• Use Zeplin to publish finalized designs to developers for production work.
